App Notifications for Redmine

Free forever, open source (MIT). Stop drowning Redmine users in email notifications. This plugin adds a Notifications entry to the top menu with an unread counter — users catch up where they work, without leaving Redmine.

The problem it solves

Default Redmine sends one email per issue update. Teams with busy projects get dozens of emails per day, most of which are noise. Users start ignoring everything — including the urgent ones.

Capabilities

Notifications menu item with unread count
In-app feed in a standard Redmine list table
Admin toggles per event (added, notes, status, assignee, priority, other changes)

Compatibility

Targets Redmine 5.0.x, 5.1.x, and 6.x. Primary QA on Redmine 6.x + MySQL 8. No external services required. Source is included in the official MIT package (download form above).
