How RedmineShop Licensing Works

RedmineShop plugins use an annual per-instance license. This page explains what that means in practice — what you get, what counts as one instance, and how renewal works.

What an annual license includes

Each license is valid for one Redmine instance (one production URL) for 12 months from purchase. It includes:

  • All plugin updates released within the 12-month window
  • Standard email support (2 business day response target)
  • Access to your downloads via the account portal

What counts as one instance

A license covers one production Redmine installation. You may run the same plugin on a staging or development copy under the same key — staging environments are not counted as a separate instance.

License key and activation

After purchase, a license key arrives in your billing email. Enter it under Administration → Plugins → [Plugin Name] → Configure. The plugin validates the key on startup and once per day. Internet access from the Redmine server is required for validation.

Air-gapped or firewalled servers

If your Redmine server cannot reach the internet, email support@redmineshop.com for an offline activation token.

Renewal

Licenses auto-renew by default. You receive a reminder 30 days before expiry. Cancel auto-renewal from your account portal at any time. After expiry, the plugin continues to work but updates and support are no longer available.

Transferring a license

If you migrate Redmine to a new server or domain, update the registered URL in your account portal, or contact support. License transfers are allowed; resale and redistribution are not.
